Keizer University and The Palm Beaches first tee recently hosted students from the organization’s Florida and Puerto Rico chapters at Keiser University’s flagship campus for a three-day, overnight College Prep golf camp. Participants were exposed to a fun and engaging athlete-student experience and enjoyed skill games activities in indoor and outdoor training areas on campus. Additionally, they took several private lessons in the Palm Beach County area and returned to campus each day to learn from dynamic guest speakers.
With several participants grateful for The First Tee scholarships that made the experiences possible, the group gained insight from PGA and LPGA professionals at Keizer University College of Golf and Golf Coaching Center regarding several fundamentals, “golf-specific” course rules and strategies. They also learned more about the ins and outs of getting the attention of varsity coaches from Brandon Miller, Keiser men’s and women’s golf coach and five-time NAIA Coach of the Year. Other presenters included top fitness and nutrition guests Alex Serrano, a mental skills coach for the Houston Astros, and Anna Crocitto, an Olympic hurdler.

Located on Keizer University’s flagship campus, the College of Golf offers a 1,500 square foot indoor practice facility, which includes a putting area, advanced FlightScope launch monitor technology, video analysis program V-1, SAMPutt Lab, Full Swing Simulator, Swing Catalyst, and a golf club repair lab equipped with Mitchell Golf Equipment. Keizer University PGA-accredited teachers are available to College of Golf students for individual and group instruction, and these same teachers are available to help intercollegiate Seahawk teams improve their golf skills. In addition to the indoor facility, students also have access to a 6-acre outdoor golf course on campus with 12 hitting stations, a 9,000 square foot putting green, and a 14-yard chipping/pitching/bunker green. 000 square feet.
