If you are someone who wants to make more money or get a side job but don’t have a lot of free time during the week, there are plenty of interesting and unique jobs you can do on weekends for help you earn extra money. Some don’t even require you to leave your sofa or kitchen table.

So if you’re looking for a weekend job or two, here are five that can help you earn up to $ 2,500 more per month.

1. Tourist guide

If you’re a great speaker or storyteller – and have a passion for local history and monuments – you could become a tour guide.

Tourists and locals alike are always on the lookout for fun things to do, including sightseeing – whether it’s biking, hiking, bus or even segway. They also come in a variety of themes, including ghosts, city history, food, and architecture. Some places even offer unique themed tours related to TV, movies, or books if something has been filmed or written in the area.

Start by researching the tours currently offered by your city and find one that they don’t have, but that you think people would be eager to sign up for. For inspiration, ask questions of local neighborhood groups or visit local travel websites. Then you can create the tour, set the price, and advertise it on sites like Airbnb Experience, Trip Advisor, and other local activity websites.

Hypothetically, let’s say your visit costs $ 50 per person – you would only need 12-13 people per weekend to make around $ 2,500 per month. Or, if you wanted to make the price a little cheaper – like $ 30 – you would still only need 20 or 21 people to buy a tour and earn that much per month.

2. An investigator

Maybe you are someone who enjoys spending quality time on your sofa on the weekends. You can still earn a good amount of money just by watching your favorite TV shows as a survey participant. There are survey sites like Survey Junkie or SwagBucks that pay consumers for answering questions, providing feedback, and sharing information.

You can get paid, on average, from $ 10 to $ 50 per survey. If you can find between 12 and 20 high paying surveys each weekend, you can earn $ 2,500.

3. Empty house or pet sitter

Getting paid to look at other people’s prized possessions is a great weekend gig if you’re responsible and caring. People will pay you to watch their pets, stay in their empty house, or even just go water their plants.

These jobs usually don’t require interacting with humans, which could be a plus if you’re not looking to be social on the weekends. You can find pet sitting jobs here and house sitting jobs here.

According to ZipRecruiter, the average pet sitter in New York City can make around $ 2,671 per month and a house sitter can make around $ 4,184 per month.

4. Rent your stuff

If you look around your apartment or house, chances are you will find things that you can rent to others. You can start by renting your space. For example, people can use your garden or indoor living room for a party. You can even rent a closet or garage for someone to use as storage. But there are also different websites where you can rent your personal belongings, whether it is a stroller or golf clubs.

Start by making a list of items or spaces you can rent, then check out Peerspace to rent your home for events, Neighbor to rent your storage space, and FriendWithA to rent your stuff.

If you rent your space for five weekends during the month at $ 500 per event, you can earn $ 2,500 this month.

5. Wedding event staff or facilitator

Since the pandemic interrupted many weddings, many couples are now flocking to vendors and wedding venues to reschedule their postponed celebrations. With the influx of people getting married comes a demand for event staff and facilitators.

If you’re good at photography, DJing, floral design, or party planning, consider working on weekend weddings. You can advertise your services on an official wedding provider website like The Knot, or on a more general party website, like GigSalad or Thumbtack.

If you charge $ 850 as a wedding DJ for example, you will only have to work three weddings a month to earn just over $ 2,500.
